The sketchbookI had the inspiration for this during the week we learned calligraphy and our teacher talked about the "perfect writing angle", and I thought it should be possible to include that in a book. The sketchbookFolded inside the covers are two flaps, held in place with inlaid magnets. The sketchbookThe stub together with the flaps gives the book a built-in bookstand. The sketchbookCovered in Harmatan goat leather and marbled paste papers made by me.The sketchbookNotebooksAfter making the sketchbook I started to think about how else to use the stub part and realized that it´s the perfect spot to keep a pencil.NotebooksI drilled a hole in the stab and attached a pen to a braided silk band both to not lose the pencil and to be used as a bookmark. All eleven books are covered in goat leather and papers marbled by me.NotebooksHere seen showcased in the lobby of the school. The sketchbookThe sketchbookBox made for the sketchbook with space for pencils and an inlaid Plexiglas window in the lid.The sketchbookDiaryA stub-binding being assembled and left to dry in a press.DiaryHere with the uneven sides trimmed of and covers just attached.DiaryFinished.
